Planning with the TripIt App

Why TripIt will be a Lifesaver for our Europe Trip

When we started planning our Europe trip, we knew it was going to be a big one with multiple cities, lots of activities, tours, restaurants, and a fair amount of hopping between hotels and transit. As exciting as that was, the logistics were quickly getting out of hand. Enter: TripIt.

Honestly, TripIt is our best travel buddy.

It Pulled Everything Together (So We Didn’t Have To)

All we had to do was forward our confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com, and boom—TripIt built a complete itinerary for us. It tracked our flight into London, the train times, hotel check-ins, our Loch Ness day tour with Rabbie’s, Flamenco show in Palma, even dinner reservations like Hot Toddy’s in Edinburgh. Everything was lined up beautifully in a timeline. No more digging through emails or flipping between apps.

Perfect for Our Jet-Lagged Brains

We know that when we land in London early after a long-haul flight from Australia that we will be exhausted, bleary-eyed, and way too early to check into the Hilton Paddington. But we will have every detail at our fingertips. Train times? Check. Confirmation number for our hotel? Right there. Dinner plans for that night? Yep, noted. Even if we are running on fumes, TripIt will keep us on track.

It Works Even When the Wi-Fi Doesn't

One of the best parts? TripIt works offline. Whether we are on a plane, in a remote corner of Scotland, or dodging roaming charges in Palma, we will still see our full itinerary—addresses, times, contact info, everything. That is a total game-changer.

Being In Sync (and Saving Ourselves Some Headaches)

Traveling as a couple, it is so helpful to have the same shared itinerary. We both had access to the exact same info, which meant fewer “Wait, what time was that tour again?” moments and more time actually enjoying the trip.

Sharing Your Journey

One of the features we love about TripIt is how easy it makes sharing our itinerary with family and friends. With just a tap, we can give them access to our full trip schedule—so they’ll know where we are, when we’re traveling, and how to reach us in case of an emergency. It gives everyone peace of mind.

Planning Just Felt Easier

Having a visual, day-by-day breakdown of our schedule is helping us to spot gaps for downtime or spontaneous adventures. We are using it to map out when to rest, when to explore, and even added notes for local recommendations.

Bottom Line? TripIt Is taking the Stress Out of Planning

From London to Edinburgh to Palma de Mallorca, TripIt is keeping everything organised so we can focus on the fun stuff—like whisky tastings, tapas tours, and epic scenery.

If you’re planning a big trip with lots of moving pieces, do yourself a favor and try TripIt. It seriously made our Europe adventure smoother, easier, and way less chaotic.

Now, we can’t imagine traveling without it.
